Recycling Fishing Line

Does anyone know if fishing line can be recycled? And where? It doesn't really seem like something that should go in the landfill?

Army & Navy has a bin here in Langley for old line, Id check with your local tackle supply shop

Thanks for the replies. I emailed the CRD Recycling Program to see if it can go in the Blue Box. I'll post their answer when I get it.

So apparently it has to go in the garbage, in Victoria anyway. Here's the answer from the CRD:

"Thank you for your enquiry. Fishing line cannot be recycled. It is considered garbage. As you are aware it is extremely dangerous to fish, birds and other animals, so it is a good idea to contain it in something before disposing of it in the garbage.

Please do not put it in the blue box. We can only accept rigid plastics in the blue box, and not with anything stuffed inside."
