What's for dinner tonight ?

Sorry I'm the laziest....triple pepperoni from Domino's!!!
That's funny. When I saw the lazy and lazier post I was gonna do a laziest post with a pic of my yesterday's dinner. A bag of Kettle corn microwave popcorn and a Diet Pepsi. When my wife and I were working folks, almost every Friday when we got home from work, that was our meal of choice,,,with a movie of course.

Halibut Vacuum packed frozen in June 2021
Just like fresh! A friend who had a fish n chip shop once told me he prefers frozen halibut to fresh.
The key is the batter receipt!!
AND cut the halibut to no more than 1/2" thick.
Thanks Roy, BlueWolf ,for your receipt posted a few years ago.
Fries done in the oven with Seasoned Cavandish frys from Costco.

Looks awesome! Can you re-post the link to the recipe?

Happy to, but important to know it originated from Roy
You will want to double or more the recipient if you doing Fish and Chip for the family
1/3 c cornstarch
1 c flour
1 tsp vinegar
1 tbs baking powder
approx. 1can of beer…let it go flat for about an hour you want the batter to slowly drop off the fish.
1 tbs dill
combine cornstarch, flour and vinegar (no baking powder yet), add enough BEER to make a medium thick pancake batter

Cover fish in flower to make it dry and in pieces of halibut about ½” deep.
heat oil to at least 375
now the trick is to add baking powder to cornstarch and flour mixture no more then one minute before your ready to batter and fry
Dip fish in flour then batter and fry to golden brown.

DO NOT OVERCOOK. Cooks in about 4 minutes or less.

Anyone know of an affordable small gas pizza oven that gets super hot ~800*F?
Woodfired ones are not affordable and against bylaws in my town anyway. This was good but, I can't get the black char before the rest gets too crispy in a 500 oven.
Come to think of it. I might try a butane torch on tomorrow's lunch.

Switch to broil up tight to finish.

Hi, curious why you’re leaning to Roccbox vs the Ooni oven
Regards

Now that you mentioned it i figured i'd take a look at the Ooni line again, never really liked the older models they weren't that great, wow the new ones are some what better now then the Roccbox, i think you’ve changed my mind on what to get, the Ooni Koda is a great unit with a 16" wide opening as roccbox is only 12"
