Lake Cowichan Question

Hey all.

I'm toying with a trip to Cowichan Lake this weekend and am curious of any reports coming out of there. Also, if anyone has been lately, did you happen to notice what depth the thermocline is at? Just trying to formulate a statagy and gather my gear for a trip.

Was there last weekend but trip got cut short due to mechanical problems. Was out for an hour and pulled in 4 (3 went back less than 8 inches long) They seem to be hanging around 35' trolling a #5 Cowichan spoon adn worm.

Was out a couple weeks ago. Hit half a dozen in the morning. All were at 60-80 feet on plugs. All were large (over 50cm) at around 4-5lbs. They were returned.

Unfortuately my schedule got changed for the weekend. Now I'm just
hoping I can get out locally for a few hours at least.

what colour tomics they bitting? white ones?

I am sure many will work but the pale colured ones seem to work for me

Those big trout eat alot of kokanee,and other small trout.Tomic plug colors of 243 and 231 work really well.
