Always said if you're bored needing some entertainment, grab a lawn chair, cooler of beer, and sit at a boat launch....this video is great evidence of that

Penticton, Okanagan Lake. Skaha has more parking and costs less, but this seems to attract a lot of red plate rigs, plus a substantial volume of cyclists and pedestrians who blithely walk across the line of a boat trailer being reversed toward the ramp. I have a no go policy during July and August.

My family lived in Qualicum in the 1970’s for a few years. My dad would pour a big coffee in the morning and head to the French Ck launch where all the usuals used to gather at the dock to watch the shenanigans. He’d always come home belly laughing and a bunch of stories of what he saw.

I remember BC Outdoors magazine did an article on this launch and the audience at the time and the article title was “French Creek Follies”.
