Next up was testing the tank Unfortunately the floor was glassed over it. As you can see the tank failed the test multiple pinholes on the top I thought about just mixing up some epoxy.. But I figured I better do it right85FB6D1C-0123-4763-BFD6-8CE0C9EAEB78.jpeg44381870-E2A4-4B9D-8F0B-9884737A42D7.jpeg82734DD9-ACE0-451D-8AD3-F2667497E3E6.jpeg131BA5EE-EA41-4C79-9619-8544E1079122.jpeg12491EF6-7AE9-4031-8C9A-77AC3B34AE2E.jpeg

I figure if I’m getting a tank made I might as well make it bigger...I’m going from 200 L to about 290 I cut out the bulkhead and removed the motor mounts ( I figure I got a full day of vacuuming up the dust ahead of me ) imI will put the bulkhead back in once the tank positioned

Good choice on replacing the tank, once your in there do it right.

Looking good by the way, keep them coming guess.

See if you can get a "Moeller" tank to fit your needs,it will last your lifetime.Aluminum 20-25 years probably,or give it a good coat of epoxy or similar sealer before reinstall.

I looked into them nothing that would work for me. Can you suggest a product for coating to tank

I was going to use some aluminum angle
Attached to the stringers to hold the tank in place. I also need to figure how to firm up the replacement deck piece that will be coving the tank, Plus I need to source some T moulding to go between the deck and the new deck cover. Not sure where to find that. What’s everybody’s thoughts on the anti-siphon valve

bye bye anti siphon valve!

Well the boat is off to get the pod built.
796E76BD-2B77-452D-90F5-453790AF9D22.jpegpicked up a new seat should help with the bulged disk hopefully, not so straight forward to mount in a Hourston . Unfortunately I FC558C4E-A1B6-4936-BE02-794A6B8F2D93.jpegwon’t be able to swivel

I've been wanting to add a seat like that to my hourston.

How are you going to get the head room required?

I thought I would have to remove the old icebox cabinet and Install a new box.

Do you have a picture of the outside of the cabin?

It looks like the roof is raised a bit in the one picture.

The boat at one time had a open roof area with a canvas top. It has since been glassed over. I have to remove water tank and ice box fridge and lower the counter top to get the head room needed. I hope to then use same water tank or a new one under seat for Fresh water wash down pump. I’d also like to keep the sink get rid of the stove and just have a cooktop with an assortment of drawers under it. Also looks like might need to remove right arm. @23Hourston Here's a link to my Double Eagle project boat in progress

Just a heads up anyone putting a longer tank in their Hourston
The tanks are tapered front to back..taller at bow end shorter in stern ya start to run out of space between floor and tank in the rear. Thank christ Tank guy figured that out C3F1AA7E-15E2-4B93-9554-530D532ECA06.jpg
