THE BLUEWOLF 2.0 podding of 26 Hourston

sooo does this mean you have a volvo setup for sale cheap? ;) lol

Saw you in Bamfield Harbour today. My wife commented”there’s a sexy boat”. Looks great.
YES I was there and had a very good time going to a spot where I could kill some fish... bamfield is a nice gem of a place and Jerry at mills is awesome...

Hey Wolf how are you finding the DP Suzuki for low speed handling, particularly in reverse, compared to the VP DP? She looks amazing underway, hope the hull is all dialed in already and good to go.

Well im used to the power steering lol so yes even with hydraulics its a bit "stiff" but ill get used to it at low speeds its easy peasy, there was no way I was going to pay the price for the power assist at close to 4 grand thats way out of touch!
as for parking and such its basically the same, i have to go down a pitch size as it had 21 on it but going to 19.5 pitch props as I cant get to the top end of the Rpms the dealer wants me at, they want the range at 5700 to 6300 and I can get just to 5700. must admit the guys at Vector marina have been AWESOME. customer service has been great ...

As for the hull the pod and everything is perfect i didnt need to add any weight or move anything its balanced , ive played around with the trim etc running and it seems to like 18 to 24 % . So you running that 26 hourston id highly suggest coming to look at the dimensions etc if you plan on podding top speed so far for the whole 2 mins ive gone up there is 44 mph defiantly do not need twins with this set up.

Perfect, thanks again, will do for sure.

It was a great trip to Bamfield and will do it again. I might run my boat up with my new Suzuki’s. Fuel economy is a lot better the my older Yamahas

i checked it out at mills dock. very nice wolf!! hope to sea ya around more.

thanks Bud yes it handles beyond my expectations sometimes when you "pod" a boat it kinda makes them more rolly and in following seas worse , well can tell you coming back off beale in 7 footers handled it like a champ was very happy, Just got the lower pitched props on today went from 21 to 19.5 that should get me into the middle of the range dealer wants

So From dealer we put 21 pitch props but could not get into the "range" so they bumped me down to a 19.5 pitch ...soooooo yesterday took her for a rip .
Result boat filled with gas and water top rpm was 5900 and top speed was 45 mph thats alot for such a heavy boat moving!!!
Seems happiest by sound at about 4200 rpm and thats giving me 28-30 mph and 10.4 GPH. so to say im impressed is a understatement.
So for the other guys contemplating on podding there 26
id suggest use my boat for measuring pod dimensions etc as the guy who built it nailed i don't need any weight in aft or anything ... and ill be more then happy to let you guys...
Good luck fishing (boating) Wolf

That's awesome, great to hear it. Did he leave you with any design plans or would it be ok to measure it up quickly at the docks? Shouldn't be too difficult in any event...quick question, how does the hull behave around 20 knots? Are you nicely on plane or do you find you need to be moving faster? So much junk in the waters where we run, 20 knots is a very manageable pace and the boat planes so easily even much slower. Thanks for the update!!

That's about the same numbers I get with my 300 Vrod. 27-29 mph at 11 GPH. 4100 RPM that seems to be the happy place.

These boats can pretty much stay on plane at 12 mph with the tabs down.

Boat Looks great!

Right that's my same experience with my hull, without tabs and just the drive fully down its about 16 mph or so...pretty damn efficient and no epic bow raise getting there either.

Yeah, same thing. They basically stay level until on plane. It's great for cruising between spots at the rear helm!

Did he leave you with any design plans
all in his head YUP... he banged it out in 3 days I was his mule moving metal cutting lil things to me he was a wizard great welds too
how does the hull behave around 20 knots?
i can have it up on plane at about 15 so yeah 20 is no problems also found it seems to like the trim at about 18 to 22 %, If and when you want to do measuring let me know and ill haul boat out or ill be out by first week of october

Quick question what’s is happening at 18 to 22% that makes you say ahhh that’s the spot
Still playing with mine and can’t seem to find much noticeable difference with tilt angle
