For those who want to get out and into calmer waters, there are fish in Saanich Inlet now. They used to call the inlet Coward's Cove, because it's almost always calm.

Has anyone been out lately on the waterfront? Planning on going today if the wind will ever let upl Might finally see some bait for a change. I am tired of working on the boat rather than fishing!!!

Was out yesterday for grand total of about 40 mins before the wind came up once again and blew us off.
Had 2 hits, neither one stuck but the second one felt like a pretty good fish.
Blowing west 25 knots off Trial right now, but forecast is backing to 5-10 knots by about 11:00am

Lots of small fish today 3-5 lbs (released) , however we did tie into a few larger but only landed one.

Managed a couple 5 lbs off the harbour mouth, 130',nasty boy coyote/cop car flasher. No other hits on plastic or spoons.

Yesterday was good for us on the waterfront. Hooked 6 and didn't lose a single fish to a seal for the first time in ages. Kept a couple (12 and 7 pounds) Glow hootchies right on the bottom. Also noticed that bait has started to show up in greater numbers. The 12 pounder had 5 large whole herring in its stomach.

\Good day out on the bank today nice water . Fish were a little smaller but managed a limit up to 12 lbs. Squirts in the mud again./

nice to have the sunny weather for a change.

Loads of boats, but slow fishing.
Got a nice 10 pound winter.

Was pretty quick out at Constance this AM. Squirts and Spoons were on.

Scraped up 2 , a 7 and 8, on the waterfront. Small green and silver spoon on the bottom.

1 bite, 1 fish today. We never got out til 11 and missed the morning bite. Heard fish were caught before noon. Nothing out front so went to Albert Head where managed a 7 lb on tiger prawn hootchey. Note to self, go home before dark in January when cold out. By the time the boat was cleaned the driveway was a skating rink and boat a popsicle.

first two went to sammy the seal off Brotchie - finally managed to get one in the boat about 6lbs in harbour mouth after sammy was fat and full
