newby question

Great day on the water flat calm lots o fish. we were at the bank between 8 and 11 landed 10 fish lost a couple kept our 6 all around 10lbs but 1 smaller.
rite on the bottom with the usual squirts.

I'm new fishing around Victoria and I wonder if you would share the GPS co-ordinates for fishing Constance Bank... and also are there any particular issues that need special attention out there..(Current, tide change issues, being run down by giant Chinese freighters carrying money back to china)... stuff like that.

This should be able to give you the GPS co-ordinates of Constance bank, or anywhere else around. I just found it, it's a pretty good map!

The totally inadequate, biased and unfair allocation system in place for Canada’s Pacific halibut is about to create a short season disaster for local anglers. A new SFI website dedicated to the halibut issue has everything needed to understand and deal with the halibut situation. The web site can be reached at www.sfibc.com.

Planning on heading out Saturday as the winds look nice and calm. Will likely hit Constance in the afternoon when the currents start to slow down.

Oakbay Springs 11 & 9 lbs :)

Nice work as usual Craven! Went for a quick fish with Addicted from 1015am-1pm and fished off the Waterfront. We hooked 6 landed 3 all between 5-8lbs. Zero seal problems for us but some were not as lucky. 3.5 inch Spoon out fished squirt combo today 5-1 for us, 1 fish had a nice 7inch herring in its belly, yum. Talked to a boat that was at the bank and it was lumpy and slow for them, one 7lber. Was a little bumpy off the front as well and it didn't seem to ly down like it was forcasted, still a ton of fun.6 keeper crabs too as a bonus.

There were herring in its gut.....good size. It was the only action we had.....but it was a good one !

Might be a stupid question, but is it ok to fish for halibut right now as long as your not retaining any and just letting them all go to try and find a few honey holes before the season starts??
