I’m pretty sure he started without you....
Been sick all week so haven't been online much. I've done the trip in both 17ft DE and 22 Seasport. You aren't going 50 miles offshore and so long as you DON"T care where you might spend the night you are at worst only 1.5 hrs away from a safe port. (almost reaching Renni and having to turn back to Sooke or almost reaching Beale and having to turn back to Renni) I've always had reliable equipment and was confident that a break downs would be unlikely. For me it is less about how long the boat is...its more about is the boat and motors reliable and properly maintained. Give me the choice between a poorly maintained and unreliable 28 footer and a well maintained and reliable 17 footer...I'll take the 17.
