Heading out to Barkley sound may 6th- 9th.Am wondering if this is still a good time for prawn fishing.( or will the commercial season be in full swing?and to hard to find any real-state?) We are staying in Julia passage, and would like to keep the traps soaking while we fish.

Looking forward to our day with Osama!

Cheers:Ray

Ditto.By June I've found the prawns around Julia Passage to be getting a wee bit mushy and hard to peel.Still taste pretty good though. We did okay there last August/September.
This past March my wife and I spent a week out that way and found some of the best prawning we've had in 20 years out there.Biggest prawns I've ever seen anywhere and the best numbers that we've ever had there.Best thing was that only 3 of the prawns still had eggs on them.:D
