My wife and i are planning a trip to vancouver island i am looking to fish for salmon from the shore any good spots.

Pepper, when and where are you planning your trip to the island. Also what kind of salmon would you like to catch?

we have a cabin booked june 18 to the 22 in ucluelet and from there dont know yet we have a week and any that i can keep

A cheap way to get on the water is to go on one of the Canadian Princess boats. It's $120 per person and generally a great time if you don't get sea sick. Fishing can be good if you know what you're doing.

I have seen a lot fishing from shore. The places I would try from shore, would be ‘Eagle’s Nest’ (Fletcher Beach area) or ‘Wya Point’ (Florencia Bay area). While fishing those areas from boat, I have seen many people casting from the rocks in late July early August – Mostly off the rocks at Wya Point. They get out as far as they can on the points. I have never driven the roads and don’t know the condition (2wd – 4wd?) but do know where they are!

I'd be sending 'IronNoggin' a PM, I bet he could tell exactly how to get there? Plus, he might even be able work out to take you fishing for a small fee!
