Fishing in Maui

We are lucky enough to be going to Maui for a week. I'm thinking of doing some shore fishing and was hoping to get some advice from someone thats tried it. [8D]

I lived in Hawaii for 4 years... surf casting is okay... just get some sun and enjoy! Don't be surprised if you don't catch anything you want to keep!

But if you want to catch some "good" sized fish? Check out the Charters!

My advice...
You get to a place like that only once in a while...
spend the dough and take a decent charter..
You can keep a small amount of fish if you like and yes...you can release your billfish

Thanks for the replies. We are leaving Sat. afternoon and I am going to take a couple of casting reels. There are two other couples coming with us so we may take a charter. I will post a report when we return. [8D]
