Fishing from the Beach in Vancouver

Any recommendations on tackle and locations to cast from the shore for salmon? I saw a few guys fly fishing near shore at Belcarra last week in the mid morning and they were catching one after another (catch and release). Looked like 3-5 lbs per fish.

They were going for pinks. You just need to be there when its low tide, lots of fun
