How were you tipped off by the sale? do they advertise in a flyer or?? I always seem to miss these deals.

My butcher sells them with quite a bit of fat in them but I prefer them trimmed.

I use an app called Flipp. I can browse most flyers and I also have a watch list set up for things like pork belly, brisket and prime rib. Useful tool

For smoking a brisket it should be at about 250 degrees and trimmed to 1/4 inch of fat and smoked for 1 1/2hours per pound fat side up.

Got my brisket today, and plan on picking up a couple of pork legs from Thriftys tomorrow.

Country Grocer has whole brisket on for $3.97/lb. Also boneless brisket pot roast for $5.47/lb, whatever that turns out to be. Point portions would be nice.

put into the brine and weighed down with ziplock bags
bones roasted for soup stockand two jars of lard for good measure
