Catch of the Day

Thanks ! it was slightly more than 10 minutes, all the line went out except for about a dozen or so rounds on the reel.
Was seriously worried for a sec that if it got to the end she'd snap...it was close !

I checked the island outfitter reports, I thought you'd be holding first with such a nice fish, but any how it must of be very rewarding catching a huge fish like that. Was it your biggest?

I saw a carp last week must have been almost three feet long swim right under my boat at Elk lake. He swam inches under my boat. He must have been at least 10 inches wide.

Wow. What was that carp caught on? I'd love to get into one of those......
I was there the other day, but I didnt see much, nor did I get anything.

I made some carp bait and never got a chance to try it, but if someone wants to try some boilys, go to Wise Buys and ask for the carp bait in the fridge. It's free for the asking, just let them know how they work. You need to use a hair rig to fish these. Good luck.

And for those that want to know what the hell is a hair rig (and what baits to use for carp), just go search for some UK carp fishing sites. You would be stunned at the size of some of the carp in European ponds and lakes - 40-60 lbs and sometimes bigger.

good day at langford today, it started getting really wild and windy around 3pm. I was hitting smaller fish the whole daay, and had around 10. Then out of nowhere I get a huge hit, and have 20 ft of line ripped off my reel. I palyed the fish for about 5 minutes, and eventually netted it. It took me into my backing twice, and put up a huge fight. I was expecting a larger fish, and it ended up being a 20incher, 3lbs. Small black and copper mohair leeches. The first picture is a smaller fish of the day, then the nicer one.

thanks, it was a good day fishing, minus the weather. On the way in I spoke with Rempy, he was going out for smallies.

I had a few little bites. One small guy about 5 inches long. He definatly did not want in the boat though. Very windy, nice challange for keeping the boat still. A challange I could have done with out. but no the less I was on the water which is what matters.
When are we heading out again Brodie.

I never seem to get a day on my own haha. Always have a line up of people wanting to go out in the boat. I will be up there tomorrow. You should take your boat out.

9.7 lb'er this morning

oh yeah another amazing fish! I am going out next weekend to elk and am going to target those things. Any tips?
