I suggest you wait until some truck and SUV in electric propulsion come onto the market in 2021. Those engines will tow anything with ease and make a gas or diesel truck look weak.

I'd seriusly consider one too, especially the Tesla truck. But my 4runner has been so solid for the past 8 years with almost 200K and no issues. I'd love to drive it until it stops, to get the max value out of it. Seems like excessive to buy a brand new truck just so I can tow a bigger boat which I can probably do without anyway... ahhh, the guilt.
I have a 22 Wellcraft and it weighs 4600 dry, I also have a 4Runner 2016, but bought a Chev Silverado 1/2 ton to tow the boat. Constant daily fuel economy of a 1/2 ton is the sacrifice, but well worth it when it’s panic stop and go on the freeway. I’m also in Langley and launch at Rocky Point/ McDonald.
