And so it begins....

As promised a few update pictures....finally! As I said earlier the bottom is fully welded and he has started prepping it for bottom painting later. The floor grid and structural supports are tacked in place and the full length channel looks to be fully welded now as well. Once it is completed the floatation foam...fuel tank and anything else will be installed before the floor is welded down. Starting to look like a boat!

Here are few more I got. Trying to break it up into sections to build the suspense! lol These are some pretty good shots of the pod and swim grid starting to take more shape. I'm booked to fly out on the 6th to deliver the trailer and to most likely walk of the deck in person. :)

Just got this one today. They have started to fit the bulkhead to the cuddy cabin. It's starting to come now.....The measurement of the center of the cuddy to the bow is going to be 6'3". I'm 6' even so it shouldn't be too bad as I will gain a little length sleeping on the side of the bunk anyways. My wife is a shorty so all good for her...lol

it’s a little thing but i love the round gunnel top. when i saw my first Jaxoncraft back in the summer it’s quite the distinctive feature.

I agree that it's a nice touch. It looks rugged without being too industrial.....imo I have a similar feature on my SilverStreak tiller boat that really finishes it off nicely and they also incorporated a grab rail on the inside edge. Like you say....the little things.

Great thread....boat looks amazing, congrats! I've actually never heard of these boats, I'm kinda going through the same process having sold my 21' aluminum last spring, have heart set on a North River Seahawks OS but damn they're pricey :(

Thanks Falcon! Yeah that boat was one of two that were on my short list as well. I really like the lines of the NR OS series. I'm not going to be much money ahead if any at all but I sort of got put off of the production boats when I started wanting to add or delete things and see the game that was being played. Just my experience....but ultimately in my case it just came down to wanting to do a build and being part of the process. Good luck on your new boat!

Just in! Looks like they have put the first coat of bottom paint after it was primed. Should look good once the tape is off.

Starting to cut and fit the pieces for the rear deck and under the rear fish box and accessory hatches. The cuddy looks to have the vberth framing in and the anchor locker. He has started the cuddy roof supports as well. It’s really coming along nicely....I think anyways...lol :)

Well a little confusion with the pictures. I guess he sent these pictures to my work e-mail so I didn't get them until day. It goes against my anal nature to post them out of sequence but I'll just have to deal I guess? lol I wondered why the last ones I posted were so far along without any updates. He started to frame in the anchor locker. I'm only going to use it for day use and have a longer anchor system for halibut that will just be in a tote like most people. A shot of the other side of the pod that shows the transducer mount and cable support that he runs up the back. I like that I will simply be able to tie wrap the cables up nice and neat. There is also not a bad shot of the beginnings of the dash. He puts a access cut out in on both sides that just has a snap cover over them. It makes it easy to run wires and makes a tidy install when it's done. Looking forward to next week and seeing in person.......

Well I finally pulled the trigger on power for the boat. I have bought twin Yamaha F/LF 150's. I'm working on the kicker too but not sure if I'll wait a bit or just do it all at once. After getting a lot of quotes on the Yamaha's and Suzuki's I went where I originally thought I would and got a really good deal....IMO. I'm on the plane in the morning with my daughter to do a bunch of boat related jobs and of course some Nana and Papa time for her. I gave my son first crack at coming with me but he was too worried about missing a few ice times for hockey. Can't say I can totally blame him....lol ;)
