Nanaimo Area

Any luck with the lower unit John? , i finally have my outboard fixed and then i smoked a snow fence type deal that was subsurface right in departure bay yesterday, thought it cooked my leg but i was lucky just wrapped around my prop about 10 times, don't know what the hell it was doing there but damn that thing was about 25 feet long, spun around and tried to get it with the gaff but lost site of it as it submerged again. looked like a piece of fish farm fencing.

He wasn't insulting you islander55, get out the dictonary and look up oxymoron, and Tubber that response was priceless bud..Sculpin is a solid guy and far from a jerk so mind your p's and Q's no need to start a pissin match .

No. It's alliteration, but taken out of context, a mildly pornagraphic needless use of redundancy, followed by a rhetorical question which got more of an answer than it deserved. 8 more days till school starts i55.

This=awesome!

lol im only kiddin around , but it is true that everytime i say something all you guys just be absolute smart asses and i take it the wrong way,
Don't take it the wrong way, these reports and forums are here to help us all bud , you can learn a ton from members on here, i know i have so keep the pics and reports coming.

Been a bit and hasn't been any reports lately. I'am headed out tonight to drop the prawns traps and try for a spring or ho'.Can any one let me know what's been happening. Do have an open spot on the boat but only out from about 4-7:00. thinking neck point but not if its off.

fishing was slow for us today ,not much actions trolled around with the chipstealer for about 4 hours nothing but a couple shakers, then i caught a small spring maybe 5 lb, released him back and then moments later chipstealer caught a dogfish, thought we would switch it up and try jigging for a bit. Even with no fish was still a good time had by all, caught a few sea bass looking fish and one undersized green-lingcod. then just when we thought there was no rockcod left in the ocean it happened..whamo..talk about finding nemo..goodtimes..IMG_2910[2].jpgIMG_2911[1].jpgIMG_2912[1].jpg...Going to try prawning&jigging tomorrow, leaving the deeplines at home....

Ya I was out early to entrance area, fishing was same for me a few shakers, a dog, and one good one I never saw. Prawning was decent with a 30 avg. on 8 traps.

Hey Jeffy .......those jigs fish a lot better when you tie the leader direct to the nose ring on the jig instead of having swivel connectors and hardware.......

Just my two cents.......Cheers.....:p

Thank Seafever , giver a try next time but i think my saltwater fishing might be done for the year now, back to work around the 15th.

Was out from 4-7 last night and landed about 8 pinks (let most go) and one nice big 26.5lb red spring. Was down about 140 right off the fingers right where it drops off to 225 ft heading on the inside. Decent fight, at one point I thought I might have been sealed as it would fight hard and then let up a bit. Going to can this one. Oh yes, using the a spoon that has the pink, blk and silver stripes. Sorry about the neck strain, not sure how to get the iphone pics to show right.

Hello fellow fishers..
Going out around the fingers and general Nanaimo area later this week.
Can anyone enlighten me on whats currently working gear wise, depths etc please. I'm a bit out of touch the past couple years.
Going for springs, pinks or cohos if they are around
Thanks..
