@ship happens , don’t worry, I have the lower mainland’s finest officers (DFO) looking for Ron, I have send many emails and filed a missing person report with them . I got a response right away because I mentioned in the email that I’m not a recreational fisherman. They were super happy to help and will take time out of their busy schedule studying salmon identification charts to help me get Ron back.

I can put out a Filipino APB - free fishing/crabbing trip to anyone who brings us Ron. Should have him delivered to you in 24 hours, but have to be careful to make sure they don't do it Duterte style.
You are looking pretty handy, you should be able to power through and get her buttoned up with month if a couple members come over to volunteer in exchange for fishing trips.

Here’s some pics of todays work,
Made some adjustments with my timing on wetting and mixing hardener, and was able to lay down 64 feet of mat and roving with no issues. Hoping to end the stringer phase soon and put down the floor in the cabin. The exterior is also coming along

Looks like some good expert opinion on this thread so kind of curious about the rebuild process and being able to insure the boat after completion. How do the Small Vessel Regulations apply to the finished product and can it require a Transport Canada certification if it remains a personal use only?

That’s not a bad question considering the quality of work going into this build and whether you can insure it at real replacement value. Although you have photo documented the process it might be worthwhile having a surveyor examine the stringer work before you put the floor down. I have no doubts that your finished boat will be exceptional in quality but can that be translated into insured value?

That’s a very good question and I have had a few consultations regarding this matter. Bottom line, unless you can produce receipts and a survey, no body will insure the work you personally put into your boat, and most surveyors will question your work even if it’s immaculate.
So that’s where Ron, Anisur, David and a few other people come in play to make everything insurable. My motors are installed by the dealer. The pod is designed and built from a boat manufacturer. My fuel tank is not just tested but certified and stamped. My entire electrical system is professionally designed and installed. Ron as a professional contractor has repaired my transom, stringers and deck. And I will have a complete survey when it’s all finished. I’m hoping I did the best I can do get the value up.
Right now the boat insurance is quoted at 120k, mostly motors. I’m hoping to bump that up before it goes for motors to Lordship in a few weeks by having my electrical done. We will see what it will end up at when it’s all done.

Yesterday… LoL
I pretty much wasted the evening by dragging my boat outside the shop to see if I can sandblast the gel coat away from the inside. Wasn’t as fast as I hoped it would but it did clean it up nicely. I gave the bottom paint a shot also, before I knew it I made I huge mess and decided to stop , push the boat back it in and clean up.
What a waste of time, sorry guys, didn’t want to report that LoL
