1981 Double Eagle gets a second chance

Thanks. The previous owner had it done full width by Eaglecraft Marine in Campbell River. Nice to have some extra hull in the water and works very well.
Makes sense to me. More stern lift, a better design than just a pod hand down for the 18-20'boat range. Must fly with the 200hp.

Filled in the drain hole and put down the final coat of primer. Also gave her a bit of a clean up. Not going to be to fussy on the outside until the inside is done.

So I did the Sapphire Blue from Interlux on the transom to see if I liked it. Well the short answer is no. So I got out the sandpaper and got to work. After that I put another coat of primer down.

Took the boat and dropped it off to have the pod built. I asked the builder to take some pictures as he went so I post on here.

So here is a little update. The boat has been at the welders for over a month waiting to get the pod done. The combination of them being very busy and also a tough time getting the quantity of aluminum they need for all their customers projects has put them behind schedule. They are trying to get it done for next week fingers crossed.

The pain is real, throughout all industries right now, parts and materials in all sectors are in short supply, I can't even begin to calculate the hours lost this year due to lack of parts and materials. Be patient and let them know you understand the delays, that kind of attitude will go a long way in the future for other work.

Here is an update, I went to pick up the boat today to take it to either Lifetimer Boats or DSS welding in Duncan as both places said they could have it built in a week, after almost two months I hopped in my truck and went to go hook her up and take her to Duncan. To my surprise It was in the shop. I had driven past on Sunday and it was still sitting in the same spot I had left it. Best news I heard was it will be ready Thursday. Now I can move on with the rest of the build.
