What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Ordered some parts to complete the freshen-up process on the 1150 hours Etec. Exhaust seals, oil tank hold down bracket and level sensor.

Tried to resurrect a black screened HSD5 display, no success.

Photographed and listed for sale a few unneeded boat items.

Hoping 2021 is going to be fun :)
Well.... it has to be! Maybe 2021 is going to be the year that we find some sanity on the side of our politicians and their decisions again. I was looking at my boating costs and gear expenses in 2020 and man, did we have a short season!
BTW, Congrats on the new setup, Derby.

I'll post so pics up when I see what has been done so far... Auto pilot is the January project and a little gel coat work as i had a bump during the season that require a little repair :)

Very interested to see the new pod on the gulfstream - I've got the small pod on the back and not a huge fan

Following - I have a Yam F350 hanging on the single pod on 232 gulfstream. Never really liked the pod it and it feels like it's underbuilt. Really interested to see the pics and how it turns out

I dopped off a kicker and some other stuff to my builder this week. Boat just needs latches, glass, CC and bench seat bolted on, motors hung, and a wrap, and itll be done :cool:

Ya.. had a few issues with mine over the years..looking forward to the profromance of the full pod :)

@tightlines and @Derby what don’t you like about it? Obviously a lot of those boats have that pod. Does it flex under load? Looking for more stern flotation? Or looking for a spot to stand on and pee off the back? I’m just curious what’s wrong with it if so many boats have it

I haven't had any real issues- but she's a fat bottom girl wide heavy boat....I assume the bigger floatation pod would assist in planing faster and ride quality at slower Rpm but I don't know .... Also just think it looks nicer with full platform all the way across stern. Interested to see how it turns out

I shouldnt de rail thsi thread.. I'll start a new thread and dig some pics of what i have done on the back end
this afternoon :)
And why you decided to change the pod. Mine has been perfect. Just like to know what your motivation is.

Made this up a couple weeks ago. Just the start of the winter projects.

Similar to what I had built for my Wellcraft except this one is a complete stand alone. Fits in snug against the rubber backed matting I have in the gunnels to protect them from scratches and damage. It’s a very snug fit that does not allow it to slide back at all but with a good nudge it pops out for cleaning. In the one close up pic you can see how I rounded the top edge so it pops into place with a bit of a lip on it so it snaps in place. I did a rough cut out of cardboard first the transferred that onto a piece of 1/2” plywood and fine tuned that before tracing it out onto the HDPE board for final cut and fit.

Really happy with the way it turned out. I can’t stand tackle boxes and gear sliding around the deck and in the way, everything has to be put away leaving a clean clear deck for working. All my tackle is in trays put away in the rear cupboard and or under the rear helm cupboard.

Holds 26 flashers so more than enough for a days fishing.

Looks great @walleyes, nice and clean. Looks like you could fit another slot in between and up the capacity to 52 flashers!

I did something similar with some left over HDPE to make a rack that fits in one of my tackle drawers.

Also, you've haven't arranged the flashers by colour??? tsk, tsk.

Nice I like it !

I never thought of colour arrangement,, will do lol.

You guys, that's some next level organization right there. Even if that was on my boat I'd still just grab the first 2 green ones everytime haha
