What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Got a couple more things off the list.

Mounted a stainless vertical rod holder to the outside of the cabin for nets.

As the cabin is at a slight angle when the holder sat against the cabin it was tilted in as well this caused anything placed in it to be pushed up tight against the top of the cabin and possibly not allowing certain objects to be placed in properly. I rectified this by placing a strip of HDPE cut at an angle between the cabin and holder mounting bracket. I was going to place this piece in anyway as I didn't want the Stainless in direct contact with the aluminum cab.

This holds it pretty much vertical and gives good clearance at the top.

As well I went ahead and mounted a couple more rod holders. A flush mount on each side of the boat behind the riggers for running rods behind the riggers. I did a dry test with the rods and the placement will work good I'm not sure how much I'll use them as I don't like the fact the rods are directly behind you when you are at the rear Helm station and you can't see the tips at all. But they will come in handy for when the water is full of crap, I will be able to run the lines behind the boat.

Installed a center rod holder, this will be used as the obvious for running a center rod but is also going to serve as my BBQ mount.

My buddy used the kuuma rail mounts and stainless bolts to permanently mount his seabque to his kingfisher rail. It’s solid and much harder to steal than the rod holder mount. Just drill some holes and bolt it up. Not sure if seabque has a similar mount but these work fine even though it’s a different brand

That will probly be it for a few days now.

You will need to drill and tap the lock screws. Those mounts will spin if a halibut takes hold. And what's a net? People still use those annoying things?

Im sure I’ll end up drilling and tapping into the railing with a couple centre screws and some sealant to prevent any moister from entering. Just want to make sure this is where it’s best suited before I commit to that. So it will take a couple trips next summer to determine that.

I appreciate the feed back fellas.

I know I said I was done for a bit but had to get one more project done before I head to work for a couple weeks.
This was a requirement of mommas to have a porta potty in the new boat. You can order them with but I saved about $400 doing it myself with the same outcome. I don’t know, just the way I am if I can I want to do it myself.

Porta Potty from CT. Built the stand from 5/8 treated just because that’s what I had, built it to allow storage under the stand as well, never want to waste space in a boat. The stand sits on small Velcro tabs that will stop it from sliding back in rough water

Nice work. Will the bottom of the stainless holders cause a rattle and drive you crazy (and score the paint)?

Little jobs on the boat that weren't urgent in the rush to get it in for a water test before weather got too cold. Doing them now so I can spend first nice spring weekend fishing instead of working on the boat.

Changed exhaust seals in the lower unit, was getting some gas leaks there. Installed isolation switch by ACR to isolate and prevent battery drain during storage. Removed, cleaned and replaced muffler fitting. Changed VST filter and oil filter. Switched to 19P prop. Epoxy filled small dings on leg, touchup paint.

Working on modifying EZ Steer bracket to fit etec leg. Little TIG job that should be within my meager welding skills.

I don’t think it will. The bottom of the holder is sucked in pretty tight against the boat. But if it does I’m sure it’s nothing a couple small vibration dampeners wouldn’t take care of.

But good eye.

I moved mine, needed room for dump trucks to dump 105 yds of pitrun. Hunting season and fishing on hold till dream room gets done. Looking forward to winter springs.

installed a 3 rd DR centre stern. thinking a third rod or a chumbag when trolling for halibut. anyone using a 3 rd DR -heavier or lighter CB than the 2 side mounts?

1) Added fusion head unit and controller to replace original.

2) Added 12v cabin fan

3) Added 12v flexible led light with a usb charger

4) Added couple extra cabin rod holders

5) Want to add some custom starboard storage for tackle in cuddy, but not quite there yet

I separated my shoulder playing hockey a couple of years ago and since then it’s been a bit tougher lifting the trap line up into the power block on my pot hauler when under load. So, lowered it on a piece of 1” stainless stock.

New gear oil both motors, new water separating filters, new cammo cable on one rigger that was down to 190 ft left on the spool, new primer bulb on the kicker fuel line...the downstream nipple had a crack and was sucking air. Next weekend I'll drop the leg on the main and grease the top splines and anti seize the lower bolts. I thinking about switching out the power tilt on the main to one of 3 spares I have just because the one on the motor has had lots of use and why wait until it stops working or leaks when I don't have to.

Last night I put on my twin rocket launcher base in the dark with a headlamp.

Then this evening I tried updating my navionics card to get the more detailed charts, however, I’m a certified computer dumb butt so it’s safe to say that this battle is far from over.

$99 later I have an updated card! It should pay for itself tenfold now that I won’t snap off a dozen cannonballs this winter trying to figure out where bottom is.

#saveyourballs (I don’t know what a hashtag is or does)
