Don't know where you got 75 lb. as I was told it was 42.7 lb. when I was at the store this morning. Still a nice fish.

went back to the original person that posted it and they said 75...hard call - I think more than 43 based on the size of the friggin tale, but I was thinking it looked mid 50's maybe??

Deewar: Hard to tell the weight without knowing the length. The fish is definitely thick and deep but looks short in the picture. There is no good reference to tell an accurate length. If it was near 48" it would definitely be 50+.

well theres a 42...lol

Still looks at least 50's to me...but once they get up to that size, really hard to gauge!

I was going to guess that was caught by someone in Trevor's (Karma) annual River Inlet trip. In fact isn't that Rob from the garage in Royal Oak in the picture?

Not even close to 75.... 40 pounds maybe...

That doesn't look 50. They are long arming...

Its not 75 lbs... Its around mid 40 at most. Now I know who big smiley is on VHF...confusing as we already have a boat named smiley in sooke. Anyway is a nice fish.

donnow jerrod...there is dead link from wise buys saying they are 'now taking bookings'...unsure on date. I don't think a joke. I'm still torn on fish size thou..lol Yeah, 75 seems too much, but 42 not enough to me. That 73 taped seems a good comparison (assuming thats right..lol) - its not about the length, its the girth, and now that shape and size is similar to me, but you could see it could have a few pounds on it. I still like mid 50's, but maybe it was actually caught here and Bill had it on the scales, and he is busy laughing at me!

Measurements were 49x34.5 on that fish. I'm 6'4" just for scale. Your right it's all about the girth.

They also got a 55# so keep guessing boys.. Oh they released a bunch in the 40's so some of your numbers are way off. Remember Karma tagged a 74# 4 yrs ago so i would think he would know his weights.. Congrats to Rob B.. Thats a fish of a life time !! Just waiting to see how team Van Busky made out??
