Radar 3G

Could someone explain to me what this setting is on my Radar . The EBL/VRM , 1 and 2. , if I click them off I got rid of the blue line on my Radar , which I dont know what it's about anyway. Should I have not done that.
Confused ?

The are range markers. Measuring distance to an object on the radar like land or boats etc..
