Trophywife, thanks for posting.

I just enjoyed my first coffee of the day fishing with you and your buddies.

I hope you can do some more.

Here is a gooder of me landing and releasing a 20+ pounder solo. I almost fell in (damn my boat has high sides!) and lost my Trophy Titan and MR2 combo on 2 seperate occasions...T'was some madness!

Cheers! (fish was outside of Silva Bay off of Grande June 1st)

Nice vid, FB. Couple of ideas though, slow the kicker down and you can land the fish much easier. Playing the fish for too long decreases the chances for the fish to recover. And it may save you a rod one day! Lol And I saw you were going for the gills a couple of times - please don't do that if you want to see that fish survive. You did it eventually right: grab the tail and support under the belly. Never touch the gills or the fish is toast. I know the easterners grab northern pikes and walleyes behind the gill plate. With those species you can actually do this without touching the gill rakes - if you are good at it. For salmon that procedure doesn't work. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the notes on the gill plate. Was unaware of that fact but good to know. We were on the kicker because we had to contend with current and had two rods down on the other side at the time. I don't normally raise gear on the other side of the boat. It may mean better chances at losing the fish, but anything for an added challenge I guess, and who doesn't love a double!

I could have netted him as well (I do have a knotless C+R net on board) but the floor of my boat is sandblasted aluminium so any fish that hits the deck is quickly descaled. It was my first real release, so I have a couple things to learn when it comes to letting the big boys go. Small ones just get a slip of the gaff and off they go.

Great video guys. I have not been behind the camera yet this year but I'm going to get some footage in yet. Keep posting the great vids.

Trolling around the head at Rivers Inlet, nothing exciting happens but it gives y'all an idea of what the fishing is like up there...

Interesting technique up there. Especially the rods off the bow. How deep are those rods? All cut-plug?

Only cut-plugging is permitted in that area. Anywhere from 10 to 20 pulls is as deep as you will see folks fishing. It can get pretty wild when a beast decides to bite!

Hey FB how's the boat treating ya? We're you on that boat up in rivers inlet that looked like a unreal day on the water sunny and glass. Did you guys boat up from hardy?

Trying to cope with my fishing withdrawals I sat down and played with some footage from last summer in Windows Movie Maker.

This is my first attempt at Movie Maker and the editing could off course be better.

Can't wait for next year! :)

Great video Enniberg! Really enjoyed it!

Took my boat out on Saturday morning for my first solo trip across the Strait of Georgia. Fished Thrasher from 12-5 and was able to capture my first solo salmon on video. 13.5lb scrapper. I was definately a little nervous of losing the fish and might have done some oversteering thanks to the adrenaline. There will never be another 'first solo salmon', glad I caught it on video.

Posted this on the forum before, but not in this thread. Underwater video I took while drifting at Thrasher earlier this year. Cameo's by some nice lings and rock cod.
