Nanoose / Schooner Marina

I'll be visiting up there for the Labour Day weekend.
Worth dragging the boat up, and I believe it is open, tossing out a few lures?
Boat is not big enough (16 foot) to run back down to Nanaimo or over to Lasquiti, so probably just out in front of launch at Schooner Marina?
Also, any crabbing in the area.
Never boated in that area so any tips, boat advice, etc. appreciated.
TIA

Head up to French Creek, pretty good right now !
Check bigwavedave Columbia beach / san paraelle for current wind / cams.
5-10 and you’ll be fine.

Thanks guys
Even with Camera down, wind reports/predictions work, and neighbouring cameras give an idea of conditions to expect.

Reasonable launch if you take it easy over the sinkhole in the middle of the pavement. Lots of great spots if you head out of Schooner from Yeo to Gerald to Ballenas. Some good holes to drop traps but crabbing is usually better closer to Rathtrevor. As mentioned, FC is MUCH hotter right now. Have found Ballenas has slowed lately.

Have also found Windyty to be a very good predictor of wind and waves.
