Ho there,...I am currenly looking at buying a new to me boat. This boat comes with a 200hp year 2000 Johnson o/b. What do you think I could get for this if I was to repower it. It has about 150hrs on it and a stainles steel prop...

On the flip side what would a new zuke 200 cost me??

I would be careful if it is a FICHT (early oil injection method)model of Johnson. They had real problems with those models - so much so I think the company went bankrupt and was eventually bought out.

If its a FICHT motor , probly not worth much..
these motors had a bad reputation for blowing power heads
also problems with injectors.

The Johnsons were never FICHT, was reserved for Evinrude lineup only. I had a 1999 225, was a great motor. CHECK THE GEARCASE, they like to leak a little, but if compression is good all around, they burn a little fuel but overall, I was quite happy with mine. I just traded it in on a Yam 225 cause I figured I wanted a Four Stroke.

What do you guys think I would get on a trade for this??? I would really like 4strk power
