Go to lure

Wether it be a spoon, anchovy, strip, hoochie, plug what's your go to lure? Do you use it only during certain weather? Certain colours at certain times? Pleas spots names and pics guys!

Oak Bay flats/Victoria waterfront- all year- glow squirt, bottom-bouncing, short leader
Oak bay flats/Victoria waterfront- all year- AP sandlance, bottom-bouncing, short leader, late summer, slightly longer leader to fish near surface for the larger chinook

Tough to beat an extra large anchovy in a chartreuse krippled anchovy teaser head. If the sharks are around though a 3.5 inch cop car usually does the trick.

Hey guys,

For jigging salmon, either a 6oz Shimano Butterfly Flat-Fall jig (Blue Sardine) or 6oz Point Wilson Darter (blue nickel with a pink stripe). The action on those Flat-Fall jigs is absolutely incredible. I think the only place I know of on the island that has them that I've seen is at the new Tackle Shack at Pacific Playgrounds.

For jigging cod and other bottom fish, nothing in my opinion beats the Shimano Lucanus jigs. I actually caught my two biggest salmon on them last year too 25 & 26lbs. Small hooks but 100% hook up ratio.

Trolling - Nick's Iron Needle spoon with a 72" leader behind a Gibbs Guide Series Lemon Lime flasher or a Tomic Tubby 5" 116G plug. Incredible plug guys if you don't have one yet.

Cheers,

Curtis

For springs in vic area, always on primary side anchovy in glow green/chartreuse JDF teaser 60" behind my glow below flasher. Other side rotates colors. When lived in Comox the turd glow below green splatter back supertackle thing behind same flasher. No matter where all changed to red squirts and red glow below flasher when after sockeye or with a boatload of kids looking for some pinks fun.
