Gambier Island - Mooching?

Heading to Gambier Island for the long weekend. Wondering what method people suggest. Only have a 12' aluminum boat with a 9.9 merc.. Any suggestions. Was thinking Mooching off the south point as it is not far to travel in the little Boat from my cabin

go to west bay,, good place to mooch weed and beer... was good when i was 15 sorry staylor jkin....... buzz around and go to defense islands if you have time... fairly protected and a purdy place.

You can try off of Gambier Dock... just a little towards Twins Is. where the ferry rounds for Langdale... Between the wall to the south and the dock to the north... You will be adjacent the boats moored on their anchor bouys... 140-160ft... all sand.. Basically about 2 cables south/east of Gambier Dock...

Pulled a lot of springs out of that area, mainly trolling the bottom with bait... Also off Twin or Grace Is as they call it.... its a bit deeper.. again the south east side...
