few questions

thinking of taking the kids camping this weekend and bringing the little boat. prefer lake camping and not much farther than naniamo. usually head to lake cowichan, but any other suggestions for a great little spot with fish in the lake?

another question, anybody had any luck at glen lake? or Florence this summer? is there a decent little boat launch at either for my inflatable?

Nanaimo lakes is okay, fishing is starting to get better! 1st lake campsites is $20 a night with no power, windypoint,oldmill and deadwood creek all have site available first come first serve. trolling a willowleaf with a dew worm 15-18 inches behind it has been effective. the trout are anywhere from 8 inches up to about 3lbs. Also campfire ban is still in place on the south island, propane firepits and kingsford charcoal are allowed.

roads are okay, pavement until you reach the lakes, then a little gravel but otherwise ok.

Lizzard is great for camping and fishing. lots of pan size trout in there and have even gotten a couple 18" bows in there too!
