Family Fishing Weekend--Courtenay

Fathers Day weekend is again the time to get re-introduced to fresh water fishing on Vancouver Island. JUNE 19th and 20th

The Courtenay and District Fish and Game Protective Association , with the help and support of the Fresh Water Fisheries Society and the Family Fishing Society of BC, will be hosting thier annual trout fishing bonanza!

The objective is to introduce new anglers to our sport, and to entice former fishers back into the fold. Our pond adjacent to Comox lake is stocked with over 1000 rainbow trout.

Its a worm and bobber fishery, but small spoons and spinners will work too, if you can get your gear through the numerous bobbers and floats! (fly casting not recommended.)

Loaner rods and reels and bait are available on a limited basis. So come early.
Club members will clean, bag and ice your fish prior to your departure.

Dont bother with lunch either..... Thrify Foods will be supplying free tube steaks and pop and water. []

As with all freshwater Family Fishing events around the province, licences are not needed.

The "cost" you ask???? --ZIPPOLA!!! Nada! ( as in free!)

Time------ 9AM to 4PM daily , Sat and Sun. June 19th and 20th.

Its getting BETTER,, Its now the CFGPA BLAST AND CAST!!!!

The formal opening of the trap and skeet range is the same weekend-- Sat and Sun with the official ribbon cutting at 2pm on Sunday.


Bring your scattergun up and give it a try. Then head to the pond for some high tech worm and bobber trout fishing. Thrify Foods will be supplying hotdawgs and pop (or "soda" if you are from south of the border)

There are draw and door prizes for both simultaneous events

Just took delivery of a whole bunch more very nice trout from Duncan FWFS hatchery today. Some of them bust a pound. Its going to be a great time.
