Ezee steer question

Is the connecting.rod supose to detent back and forth as you till the engines?
Or is it supose to kink the kicker.off on full trim up

Yes if it’s set up correctly it’s supposed to allow movement so you can run your main with the kicker lifted without it flopping back and forth. Does it work? Some say it does some say not so much.
 
I just took all my ez steer crap off and thru it all away. Hydraulic kicker steering goes on in the next couple weeks

OK... so possibly I have the Allen screw to tight no allowing the rod to slide?
Yep. Don’t torque it right down. Your looking for the sweet spot that will lock it tight enough to steer but loose enough to slide in and out when your kicker is up. It’s a b!tch.

It’s a good idea to also add a rubber bungee cord with a hose clamp on either end of the rods so it doesn’t overextend and inner rod fall out. Ez steer sells one for about $50 or just buy pieces at the hardware store for less than $10 like I did.
