Cuts of meat on sale

do legs work as well as chicken backs for crab bait
This last winter/spring we used chicken drumsticks as crab bait (4 or 5 per trap) as they were on sale for ~$1 per lb. and they worked equally as well as chicken necks/backs which we also got cheap (equivalent volumes used).

Brisket at Country Grocers
How come Costco never gets any love here in the brisket department lol? I detest the Costco crowds but their beef is great (at last to my palate) and the price is consistent. AAA beef brisket is always $10.99/kg ($4.99/lb). I picked up a case of brisket today it was 28kg for $301.06 ($4.88/lb). I'm set now, 5 slabs are brining for pastrami, 3 nice pieces for smoked brisket, and 35lbs of trim to add to our venison for all those yummy treats.

I also picked up 2 12 lb pork bellies and they are brining for bacon. I wish I could find a better deal on bellies as $5/lb just for the meat makes it more of a labour of love than anything. A person could probably buy gourmet bacon almost as cheap.

They sometimes do those $10 off deals too. How big were the briskets? I'd like to find a consistent HUGE brisket supply

Apparently my first attempt with Beef jerky last year was a big hit with the grandkids so now they are pleading for a Christmas treat.
Since I sometimes can't say no Safeway has Inside Round ( London Broil) on sale at 1/2 price $4.99 lb.
Picked a couple up this morning as I understand this cut is what the commercial industry uses.

Good eye. Are you doing using a dehydrator or a smoker?

Save-On in Duncan has pork butts and hocks on sale for .99 lb. I bought four.
