I use a Buddy Heater and no problems. It will shut itself off if I have it one while running against a decent slop but stays on when going with any waves. It doesn't like solid jarring. I keep the back door open and it still keeps the boat warm even on the lower setting on most days. Maybe use high a couple times a year on the real cold days. I refill my 1 pound bottles from a 20 pound tank so it works out to about $1 a cylinder...you only get it about 70% full but I have a dozen cylinders so it doesn't matter. I get about 4 hours on low with a refilled bottle.
