Beecher Bay Rod - Anyone Know the History

A friend of mine found this in his basement and was asking about the history of this rod. I have no idea so am looking for input. Thanks!

I can't tell you very much but I can tell you something: I owned the Comox Bay and Departure Bay rods; they were 8' and 9' fiberglass rods respectively, available fairly cheaply at Capital Iron back around 1990. I believe they were chinese rods. They had a pretty slow action IIRC but they were really tough. Foam handles and dark blue. We used them for drift fishing around Race Rocks more than anything else back then.

I'd guess that this one was another in the series. I remember the sticker with the address on the Comox Bay rod.
 
handle pulls off solid glass rod good for pulling bottom up to your boat sold new less than ten bucks
 
Thanks for the info guys! I'm guessing they weren't around in great abundance and had limited use.
