We used clear Gel Coat on the transom and stringers. Instead of using the typical grey gel coat this will allow for easy monitoring if any potential problems.
My dad donated me some manifolds he got from his uncle who new someone who worked at a foundry in the states in the 70's. Didn't think much of it until I realized their Bronze. One less thing to never worry about.
Just a lot of time and effort plus the cost of the paint. Still had the cross hatch visible in the cylinder bores and excellent compression so engine was just cleaned and painted. Added new oil pump etc. Wiring is now on the list.
