I suggest people read through these. This is what we are up as group against and it isn't pretty. Lot of folks want any recreational fishery regardless where it is just shut down period.

Dear SFAB,

The Department has put together a package that summarizes the feedback provided to the draft Northern and Southern BC Salmon IFMPs for 2022/23, as well as the letters that were received.

The package is available via the following link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kro1ytwo1h4t162/AABNmtfasBIBdG6r6gPHT0boa?dl=0

The Department is considering the letters received and input from consultations for the final Northern and Southern BC Salmon IFMPs, which are anticipated to be available at the end of June or early July. A fishery notice will be released when the IFMPs are available.

Thank you,

It is recommended that Sports Fishing be closed until FN reach their allocations.
Pretty obvious what that will accomplish.
Would have to apply to the commercial fleet as well.

However, this is pretty much impossible to implement as all the FN would have to comply to ensure that ALL the FN get their fish, before they can start to fish commercially..

Until the FN in the upper parts of ALL rivers get their allocation, there could be no fishing by any group.

The upper river tribes would become the group that would decide when or if there was to be an opening
There would be no ocean fishing for Salmon or Coho.

Think about that.
