Fished the hump from 3 until 630 ran chovy, big herring, TKO spoon, hoochie and a batrix strip. Nothing saw any action, no bites of any kind, but the water was glass. Better luck tomorrow.

Seems we are all in the same boat today....worked the SE corner of the hump from 530-745pm. Nothing to show for my efforts but a damn fine day out there....ran TKO and Coho Killer between 40-140. No sniffs.

Dmurph...that was me you passed by trolling on your way in. 'bad habits'....

Ya Nick, tried you a few times on the radio but was calling finished business. The boat looks good, nice job. You drive all the way from missio and launch from the river for a quick evening troll?

Tried to send you a PM to avoid the off topic po-po, but your inbox is full. In a nutshell, Thanks! She's moored in the river. Might not be out for a week so I had to squeeze some hours in...get my fix man! haha

Cheers

Hi Guys…I never have fished the Hump and I was thinking of going this weekend. Weather looks good
I’m coming in from the valley, so were a good place to launch your boat from.
I have 17’ (Double Eagle) with a 115 on it.
Thanks

Hope this isn't a dumb question but I was wondering when you state your depth is that including blowback on the rigger line or is that the depth reading on your Scotty rigger counter? So if my Scotty say's 145 ft but my rigger line is past 45 degrees the gear is actually working say 120ish? Am I making sense?

Old SeaDog. Choose Macdonald Beach launch by the airport in richmond. Good launch and quick access to the ocean and the hump. $12 truck/trailer parking fee.

Coholips, pretty sure most are stating the depth on the rigger not including blow back. I wondered this as well so I am only making an assumption and when I post I am referring to rigger depth. But when people say they caught it at 90'...I wonder if they are factoring in the blowback (putting the rigger depth @ 110ish)...but I assume, caught @ 90', means 90' on the rigger.
opinions?

McDonald Beach in Richmond cheap, easy access and a decent launch.

Be Careful on the river though keep a sharp eye out and it can be a bit lumpy with all the commercial traffic.

I never take into consideration the "actual" depth in radom discussions. I use what the rigger tells me as a depth. Onboard however I generally go 110-120' if im targeting fish for 90'

good article and graph....thanks CL

If the wind is blowing N/W you may want to launch on the shore. Horseshit Bay and Sunset are both pricey though. I think $40ish, but you can hide behind Bowen on the way out, unless you like getting pounded?

We managed a 12 lb marble at 645 am today. Fished until 1230 only 1 other swipe at a chovy. Was fishing the hump , picked the fish up at 127' on the rigger on a chovy. Saw a pod of porpoises on the way out, thinkin they may have pushed the fish in tight to bowen?? I think we did better than most out there today from what I heard with only 1fish.

Never mind the Vancouver side of the Strait.

GET OVER TO GABRIOLA NOW!!! I was not over there myself the last 3 days but it has been STELLAR!!!!

I have several first hand guide reports...been fantastic....lovely that I'm stuck on this side of the Strait....fffffff.

At one time I heard the bite was "as fast as you can get it in the water".

Spoons, bait, hoochies.
