That one (the CJ needlefish) has been in the works for ages...

Treblig's been using them since last year.........( Amundsen Pro...so he gets to test lures)

Until I see one hanging up in a store I am not listening to the endless "promise and then delay for some reason" stories.

actually take a look at the size.. this is new one, as they are 7in long .. the little ones have been around for while and fish super well... As for endless promises... didn't say they were going to hit the shelf as they are in the testing stage.... You being a bit of lure designer yourself should under stand...it's one thing to make a lure then another to put it into production.. You have really one crack at getting it right for public distribution.. :)

Derby....Rob gave me a couple of herring CJ's to try out.....couple of years ago....

I have never seen or been given the needle fish version in any size.......

gotta get those needlefish ones in the purple/black combo - when I tested older smaller needlefish ones that was the best pattern consistently.

Been loving the 3-4" CJ Special squid imitation in Yellow white... Also the green white silver and glow and 5"fluorescent green white silver and glow herrings have been hot lately. Purple white silver has been good too in past years...

I've been testing these lures for about 5 years now. They really work well. Even the very first designs were killers...now the have evolved to incorporate glow and UV properties. This first photo is of an original prototype pilchard design.339838_306897812682640_2007721014_o.jpg337807_306903519348736_286374601_o.jpg412242_306908392681582_1209775446_o.jpg381152_306907876014967_1642046892_n.jpg323660_306909436014811_1769265973_o.jpg

hey Jeffy.....they supposed to have the CJ "Herrings" at PNT finally available in different colors.......

a couple of weeks I think Derby said.

needlefish version:- 2015.

the needlefish has worked very well, scared to keep using as its the only one I have,
I picked it up while trolling across the back of Derby's lines:p

Most of the Cj's come with what appears to be very tiny barrel swivels on them.......at first glance you would think they were a bit flimsy.

Don't be fooled by that....they are 145lb swivels.......(so Rob tells me.......)

Those swivels you can get at PNT.....I use them on all my spoons......

that pilchard one looks killer! I've found the needlefish ones worked best fished without a flasher either off the rigger or right on the top instead of a bucktail when gunning for coho (once caught and released an estimated 35 pound spring doing this too)
