wrap a section of hali line around their head and drag them behind the boat until they stop changing color. An interesting fact about them is that a 20-30lb octopus can fit through a 2" hole. As long as their beak can fit through, they can get get through.
Humbolt can taste quite good if fresh I find. I only eat the hood meat the tentacles are a pain in the a$$ to deal with. They can have an almost lemon peppery flavour to the meat. You can slice thin and quickly fry or hammer out a section of meat until it is paper thin and use it as a wrap and fill with crab/shrimp cheese. Delicious.
