Removing back to back seat boxs

Any one ever take out the seat boxs on an older double eagle, i want to pull the old seats and install pedistals but it looks as they are glassed to the floor.If you have done this what method worked for ya to cut them out. Cheers

I did it on my old 14' double eagle. I cut them out, then ground down the fiberglass lip that was there. After that I fiberglassed in wood blocks to mount the pedestals to. I also painted the floor and inspected it well with the seats out, as it made it easy. The frames came out pretty easy.

Wasn't too bad, just dusty.

I will say, while you'll loose some storage space, you'll love the extra fishing space you'll get. Some guys choose to keep the passenger side seat boxes and put a pedestal on the drivers side as a compromise.

Make sure you got backing under those pedestal mounts!
