Pender Island area Prawns

I never have had luck prawning near the gulf islands, any tips for locations near Pender that are worth trying?

Wherever you try get on it now-commercial season opens this week.

We see the commercial guys right in front of Pender bluffs every spring. Some pretty good currents there so make sure you have lots of weight (and hopefully a prawn puller).

We did some prawning along the Pender Bluffs a few years ago with good sucess. Water is deep, and the current is strong. hs last day the commercial guys showedup, which may have cleaned them out afteer we left.

I limit out around pender. Lots of weight and good bait is important. That and imho if your not fishing Ladner Traps your not Prawning lol.
