One thing to consider is which side you typically moor on and where you put fenders. They installed mine on the port side which is my preferred side to tie due to my shore power cord. The exhaust then blows right into the wharf. Its fairly hot too

about to do the same in a 23 following this closely. I did find this pic in the net

I don’t think you could mount it above the rub rail . My exhaust fittings is to big for that plus the hose fitting is angled in a upward fashion. Plus if you have to mount port side everything is backwards. Also keep in mind if memory serves me right the air intake has to be outside air. CO2 monitors are mandatory

Thanks. Makes sense now. Already have an a carbon monoxide detector

Do people mount below the rub rail? Wondering if there is issues with heat damaging boat.

The proper exhaust thruhull fittings have really think insulated paper type gaskets. I know some you buy online come with clear rubber gaskets and some don't come with any. The fitting will get hot. needs to be decoupled from the hull

I just re-installed a Wallas, in my recently purchased boat. Previous owner didn’t read the instructions. Google
Wallas 85DT owner’s manual. Scan marine has a link. I’m sure the install parameters are relatively similar? Take note of the 12” exhaust loop, to prevent water intrusion

I put one in my 205DE best thing I put in the boat works like a hot dam. I ordered the exhaust through hull off eBay for something like 80 bucks it came from an outfit in the Ukraine about a month later, fantastic workmanship.

I just installed a cheap Chinese diesel heater in my boat. It works incredible. I did spend a couple hundred dollars and bought the good planar thru hull exhaust fitting tho, the ones on Amazon looked a little to cheap and this is the one part you want to last. I hate drilling in my boat so I made sure I only have to do this once. They are the same size exhaust hose and I figured if this cheap one kicks the can I can easily put a planar in. I put my vent in line with the bow rail to give it a more subtle look
