Early Coho

I've been getting reports from the North Coast of some early Coho showing up in great numbers. There was an abundance of Coho in early June in the Charlottes which is early by at least a month.

Lets all cross our fingers that we see a strong return to local rivers this year.

[Last Chance]

We have been seeming them on the far side of Swiftsure as well, but they were not biting. Of course, it has been half-hearted effort for the most part out there, but I think once that big uggly algea bloom that is out there is gone, things will improve. The water is DARK brown, ala steeped tea.

 

[Mornin Chubby]

I encountered two coho today off of Secertary in Sooke one was 6 1/2 lbs hatchery and the other was about the same size but wild. Surprised to see them.
