A Very Unlikely Tyee

I snapped off a fish immediately after it popping the release clip last summer at Hall Point, Sonora island. Made a wide turn to re tie and then go over the same spot I had the fish. I just make the turn and get both rods down to depth and see the flasher swimming right for me. The fish somehow caught the flasher on my rigger line and hung in there just long enough for me scoop it with the net. 22lbs and a standing ovation from the guide fleet. My wife was sleeping in the cuddy for the whole performance.

10 years ago went to the Canal in August to catch a spring to bbq while skiing at Sproat later that day. Great plan - but the only salmon to hit was lost when it wrapped the rigger line. Oh well. We bring the gear in to get ready for the lake and.....all hell breaks loose when we see the leader has wrapped the cannon ball!!! One quick move with the net and we get the fish! To this day the kids recall the "miracle fish"

I preface so many stories with, "You don't have to believe this but....."
