What the bug!

Caught a keeper ling off Coal island yesterday. Found a couple of these critters inside it at the cleaning table. Anyone know if lings eat these or are they feeding on the fish?

I've never seen one before. was it in the guts or in the flesh?

I'm not 100% sure. I found 1 last night when I gilled and gutted it, then found 1 more that seemed like it crawled out of the gut cavity when I filleted it this morning.

How big?

Close to an inch long. It had some latching on power with its many legs. Took a good flick off my finger when I picked it up.

Yes, they are fairly common on Ling Cod
