What down riggers are you running?

The only thing between my level wind and a big king salmon is the cable of a cannon downrigger.
Them’s fightin’ words.

In all seriousness 1106’s are fine up to 15lb balls and 150ish feet. but 2106’s are better. Especially if you fish pinnacles

Yeah 2106 or high speeds are a definite must if you want to fish pinnacles

True dat. My 1106’s have never failed me either. I keep it under 170’ usually in my area. The ball comes up at around the same speed as a steady reeling.

There is only one make of downriggers and that’s Scotty. End of conversation.
Yeah I probably should have phrased it differently, should have known that on this forum the question is which model of Scotty should i get

I run both. Scotty 1106 and two 2106 high speeds. Also have a Scotty manual long arm. When the bite is on for 20 minutes and a rigger screws up you do not want to waste time fixing it. Swap it out and fix it later.
