Went to Sooke to check on the boat in dry land storage to make sure the new auto bilge pump and lever switch that was installed last year was working, the batteries were not discharged and the boat was not full of rain water. All was good and we plugged in the smart charger to top up the batteries and made arrangements for the marina staff to unplug the extension cord and throw it in the boat under the canvas in a few days. Last year the old rainwater built in pump float auto switch jammed and killed the batteries so we replaced the pump and bought two new batteries. The new separate lever float switch system seems to be very reliable.

Also removed the large Al hatch that covers the bilge where the motor use to be before the boat was podded. The hinges need to be repaired and the hatch reinforced/repaired and it seems like a good time to do it. Seems like every year there is always lots of things to repair, service, upgrade or replace.

This year we are also replacing both fuel filter/water separators in the bilge which have aluminum heads with stainless steel units. They should stand up a lot better to corrosion.

If you end up having to replace your float switch again check out the "ultra " float switch it is a nice piece of equipment for storing boats at the dock

Planned on prawning this winter, so I didnt fog the motors.... So-- pulled the boat out from the garage and fired up both the main and kicker. One small problem fixed. The kicker hose had a small air leak at the tank fitting--- all fixed and waiting for good weather.

Thanks! They do look high tech and pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Those are pretty cool. Do speakers degrade quick if not covered?
depends on quality of speaker. I only put them on my outside speakers. keeps the salt water and fish guts out when washing down the deck. and the sun off when not in use
