What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

More than a weeks work here.
Lifted motor to replace aluminum trim on transom.
Moved kicker from Stbd. to Port side.
Removed helm sleeper and replaced with Tempress and pedestal.
Replaced old steering wheel.
Complete rewire w/ACR add a battery system.
Added a Genius 2 bank charger.
Made fish box for center hatch (fiberglass).
Replaced dash panel, covered in carbon fiber vinyl.
The rewire was a long battle because I have a torn rotator cuff, being fixed in 2 weeks,so very painful reaching and fastening wiring.
Nice work Ray .. question where to get the cable ties from

Got my Shockwaves installed, going to be a sweet ride. Put them on swivel bases.

Also was tossing a few ideas around for a spot light, didn’t really want to permanently mount one as really how often does one use them. I use them very rarely maybe two or three times a year really so to have one permanently mounted didn’t agree with me. Looked at a few of them and found this one at CT. Heck of a powerful little light, 1500 Lumen spot. It’s all sealed and on stainless mounting hardware looks and feels like a solid built light. Had some heavy gauge Aluminum tubing sitting around and a couple Scotty holders. I adapt and machined down the holders so they fit into the tubing with a little room for epoxy. Mixed up some epoxy and set them in. Also for good measure not that it was needed I drilled and set in a stainless set screw. Drilled through the Scotty post and ran a stainless bolt up through the post and bolted the mounting bracket for the light to it. Mounted a Scotty flush mount in the bow which is handy as I wanted a rod holder at the front for when there are 3 or 4 of us in the boat doing some jigging it will be nice for one guy up on the bow. Also had an extra Scotty twist plug sitting around and mounted it under the bow in the anchor locker. When in use the light is easy to install and when not in use will store just about anywheres and take up very little room.

Because I'm stupid and I did not realize that Scotty uses 2 length bolts for the downrigger gunnel mounts, I mistakenly used a long one to hold the downrigger to the base that is just a touch too long so it put a nice 2" chip in the gelcoat...all fixed up now but to prevent this from ever happening again, stupid or not, I had these stainless steel "shims" made up.

Did you splurge for the shockwave swivels or use something else? Are those the factory boxes from your boat?

Looks great! Did you use the Shockwave swivel bases or aftermarket brand ones?

They are Springfield swivels, Shockwave swivels are crazy expensive, can’t justify the cost of them. Next winter I may go with a slide / swivel but I wasn’t sure about the height of these beings they sit on the factory installed boxes. They had nice swivel / slide bases at the marine shop but like I say I wasn’t sure if they would put me too high. Now that they are installed I feel I can account for the extra 2” of height that the slides make up.
So yes the boxes are a factory issue, very well made, they are a heavy gauge aluminum box topped with 1/2 marine plywood. The aluminum also runs the full width and length of the top of the box so the bolts for the seats are through the aluminum and plywood. Very solid base.
