Want to go for Salmon in area 29, confused with notices

Hello everyone,

I'd like to go fishing for Salmon in area 29-7, 29-9, 29-10 this week of Sept 3-7. This area is totally new to me, I've never been fishing in this area before. I'm confused by the notices.

FN0666 says that Sockeye is open to 4 / day in 29-1 to 29-5 but then it says that "Opportunities in the remainder of Area 29 (tidal portions of the Fraser River) will be provided by separate fishery notice."

I'm not interested in river salmon, but where to I find the notices for Areas 29-7, 29-9, 29-10?

FN0924 is for "Tidal waters of the Fraser River" which from what I understand DO NOT include areas 29-7, 29-9, 29-10 as these areas are west of the river mouth.

I've been told that it is "likely" to get checked down here so I'd like to know what I'm doing.

THANKS!

Apparently it's open the commercials are down there plus lots of sport boats talked to berrys they said there was a notice saying only 29-6 was closed but I cannot find it

29-7910 are closed till sept 30 for the killer whale bs! But that’s ok cause there isn’t much fishing in that area the area past sand heads is 29-3 and 4 and that’s where you want to fish.

Thank you, this is what I was looking for

FN0428 - so basically the entire sandheads area is closed to Sept 30.

Funny I was scouting out some local launch ramps at Vancouver Venier Park and McDonald Beach and met some guys who said they are fishing there. That is why I was inquiring. Guess I'll stick to 29-3, 29-4 maybe 28-2.

Thanks for the responses!

Sandheads is 29-3 and 29-4 that people fish

What in the middle of the Strait? Doesn't it get pretty rough there (never been)? This was 2 guys in a tiny 16' boat that said they were going to the "Sandheads". I thought sandheads was the shallows right in front of the Fraser mouth.

Thanks for your input...

The vast majority or the closed area is very shallow sand flats. Most, but not all, of the fishable areas are open as they lie in 29-3...but you must be aware of the boundaries somehow so will need a GPS, as the lines are not landmarks themselves, but instead lines between landmarks.

You CAN'T miss the fishing area when you get there. There will be two or three other boats... maybe four.

The problem is that without knowing the local waters, you don't realize that areas 29-7, 29-9 and 29-10 are not fishable.

Run down the fraser river until you get to a lighthouse. This is the sandheads light. You can fish anywhere west of that.

Nothing wrong with a 16’ tinny out there lol there’s lots of smaller tinnies out there. Know your wind and tides and all good
